Journey in Orthodontics
A Vancouver native, Dr. Kanani's educational journey began with a B.Sc in Physiology at McGill University, followed by an M.Sc from the London School of Economics. He earned his D.M.D. degree and an MS.Ed from the University of Pennsylvania. His orthodontic specialization, marked by an MS.Ortho and a Cert.Ortho, was completed at the University of Detroit Mercy.
Dr. Kanani embarked on his orthodontic career in 2006 at Guildford Orthodontic Centre in Surrey. He later established Langley Orthodontics in 2008 and co-founded practices in Coquitlam and Maple Ridge in 2009 and 2010 respectfully, now known as myORTHODONTIST Coquitlam and myORTHODONTIST Maple Ridge. With nearly two decades in the field, Dr. Kanani has transformed over 20,000 smiles and in particular over 5,000 smiles with Invisalign, earning accolades from Align Technology's CEO. Altogether the orthodontics group has helped more than 40,000 British Colombians smile more.

An advocate for continuous learning, Dr. Kanani is actively involved in conducting study groups for dental professionals. His teaching experience includes clinical orthodontics at U.B.C.'s Faculty of Dentistry and currently, as a session instructor in Orthodontics at CDI College.

As Head of Philanthropy and Community Services, Dr. Kanani is dedicated to supporting various community causes, especially those aiding children and the less fortunate. He is a keen patron of the arts, local sports, and education in Coquitlam. His philanthropic efforts extend to organizations such as BC Children's Hospital, UBC, Coquitlam Food Bank, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Canuck Place Children's Hospital, Canadian Red Cross, local Hospital Foundations, BC SPCA, and numerous local sports teams and nonprofit award ceremonies. His generosity includes significant donations of orthodontic care to families in need in Coquitlam and areas.
