To Dr. Alice Wang, orthodontics isn’t simply about teeth; it’s about a complete smile transformation and its overall impact on the individual. She takes great pride in her work, especially when patients feel confident in their smiles. Dr. Wang knew from a young age that dentistry, more specifically orthodontics, was her ideal career choice. As an orthodontist, she has a unique opportunity to contribute her skills and passion in helping patients achieve smiles they’ve always hoped to have.
One of Dr. Wang’s personal beliefs is that the entire persona of an individual can change with orthodontic treatment. She is passionate about treating young children and takes pride in watching them grow and witness noticeable changes in not only their smiles but personalities and overall demeanors.
Dr. Wang completed her Bachelor of Science at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, and after, she moved to the United States to complete her degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine at Boston University. Eager to further her education, she received a certificate from the University of Texas Health Science Center for their General Practice Residency program. Dr. Wang completed her orthodontic specialty training at West Virginia University, where she successfully received her degree of Master of Science in Orthodontics.
Dr. Wang is confident in treating the full spectrum of orthodontic cases in children, teenagers, and adults, using traditional braces and Invisalign that include complex situations involving collaboration between multiple dentists and specialists to achieve the best possible outcome for patients.
Dr. Wang is currently a member of the Canadian Association of Orthodontics, the American Association of Orthodontics, the British Columbia Society of Orthodontics, the Royal College of Dentists in Canada, and the American Board of Orthodontics.
From personal experience, Dr. Wang knows first-hand the benefits of orthodontic treatment from having braces not once but twice. She underwent Phase 1 and 2 orthodontic treatment as a child but unfortunately did not comply with wearing her retainers. After completing dental school, she embarked on yet another orthodontic journey with both Invisalign and traditional braces. Dr. Wang is an advocate for dedicated maintenance post orthodontic treatment and continues to educate her patients on the importance of wearing retainers.
A self-proclaimed food critic, Dr. Wang has a passion for different ethnic cuisines and unique dishes. Growing up in Vancouver, she had opportunities to explore a range of restaurants and taste dishes from various countries throughout the world.
